Poster campaign in Utrecht
In a team of five people we created a social campaign about breaking the taboo on pain during or imposibility of penetration for womxn*. The reason for starting this campaign was the inequality of womxn in the healthcare sector and the taboos on the female body.
Many womxn experience, in different degrees, pain during or complete imposibility of penetration. With penetration we do not only mean penetrative sex, but also inserting a tampon or internal examination by a gynecologist. Many womxn think they are the only ones facing these difficulties, but they are definitely not. There could be a variety of underlying causes (physical as well as mental) that can give these symptoms. For many of these causes, treatment is possible.
For our campaign we have launched a website with information about possible causes, potential treatment and other information, by redirecting to sources that already exist on the internet. Above that, we allow for people to share their personal stories and we give conversation starters that help discussing this topic and breaking the taboo.
To guide people to our website we have done an online campaign through Instragram and a physical campaign by spreading posters through Utrecht, as well as talking to people on the streets.
I was part of every step in this campaign process, from concept development to strategy to layout design of the posters.
